Six Rivers Iceland aims to build and sustain a long-term not-for-profit salmon conservation project within Iceland.

Six Rivers Iceland Conservation

Partnerships have been formulated with local conservation projects along the main salmon rivers in the north-eastern part of Iceland.

Knowledge from the local Strengur Anglers Club and well-informed Ecologists from Oxford University in England is combined to maximise the Salmon population and its surrounding habitat while simultaneously leaving the remaining wildlife unhindered as much as possible.

Our conservation work

Six Rivers Iceland encompasses various conservation projects, to assist in reversing the long-term decline of the North Atlantic salmon. Many of these projects are interconnected – providing a comprehensive breakdown into ecosystems, and various factors contributing to the decline in salmon.

The very strong emphasis on conservation both from the fishing and landscape perspectives was clearly apparent. Icould not possibly recommend a better experience”
